Following is the complete list of Pack 24 activities. The individual Dens will meet on other occasions as well, and those activities can be found on the Dens' pages. Stay tuned to the news page and Childpost for updated information.

A copy of the year's activities is available for download (DOC). These activities have been compared to the Stuart Hall master schedule and others for conflicts. The events are subject to change as necessary.

2003

August 18 (Mon)

8:00am - Cub Scout Presentation (COMPLETED) and welcome at school meeting in chapel. Students only.

6:00 & 7:00pm - Annual Roundup in Cafeteria. (COMPLETED) First Grade and new Cub parents, come find out more about scouting and get signed up! Pack 24 leaders will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Note: Second Grade through Fifth Grade parents come at 6:00 pm, First Grade parents at 7:00 pm.

September 7 (Sat) (COMPLETED)

Raingutter Regatta - 1:00 pm  Cubs build and race handmade sailing crafts in Scout rivers. Held at Stuart Hall School in yard. Cub only participation. Pack 24 provides the boat kits, which are distributed by Den Leaders.

Popcorn Sale - From September through November, Cubs are encouraged to sell yummy Trails' End popcorn. A significant portion of the proceeds "helps the pack go".

October (POSTPONED)

Fall Family Day -  Date, Time &  Location TBD - This event is still in the planning stages. The issue at hand is finding a convenient date that does not conflict with other activities.

November 8 (Sat) 

Overnight Outing #1 - U.S.S. Kidd. Time TBD - Cubs dine and sleep aboard the WWII destroyer U.S.S. Kidd in Baton Rouge. Limited space, $22 per person, which includes a full breakfast from McDonald's and a patch. An information kit is available here, which includes a permission slip to turn in with your registration form.

December 6 (Sat) 

Annual "Sing for your Supper" and Uniform Inspection - 2 pm - 6 pm. Caroling for nursing home residents at 2 pm at the New Orleans Home & Rehabilitation Center, 612 Henry Clay Ave. Boys get their reward after in the form of pizza and bowling at Rock 'N Bowl, 4133 S. Carrollton Ave. End of the semester party for Scouts, tied in with caroling for Nursing home residents. Full uniform required!

2004

January 11 (Sun)

Annual Pinewood Derby - 1:00pm at Stuart Hall. Scouts build and race handmade cars. This year parents will have a special race also! Trophies for the winners. Pack 24 provides the Cubs with car kits, which will be given out in December. This is a Scout tradition and a Pack favorite! Come race!

Date & Time TBA - Mardi Gras Float Decorating (if necessary) - Come one and all to help Pack 24 look their best in the Lakeview Scout parade. We will build the costumes and decorate the Pack's impressive float. Parade/ Pack 24 theme TBA.

February 1 (Sun)

Scout Sunday and Uniform Inspection. 10:30am Children's Mass at Mater Dolorosa Church, 8128 Plum St. (corner Carrollton Ave.). Scout procession and presentation at Mass. Scouts earning religious achievements, and we honor the all Cubs earning their religious Award. King Cake, donuts, etc. will be served after Mass. Cubs should arrive by 10:00, full uniform required.

February 7th (Sat) ?

Mardi Gras Parade - Date not officially  announced. Time 1:00, though traditionally we gather at noon am and the parade rolls at Noon. Cubs "mask" in the Scout Parade on Harrison Ave in Lakeview. Parade/Pack 24 theme TBD.

March 7/8th (Sat/Sun)

Overnight Outing #2 - Camp Avondale in Clinton, La. - The Pack will travel to the Baton Rouge BSA Council's official campground and stay on the banks of Lake McGee. For those of you that attended last year, we will be staying on the scenic, grassy bank across from where we previously camped. Visit the Istrouma page on Camp Avondale.

April 4 (Sat)

Cub Scout Olympics - Time and Location TBA - Scouts will take part in different activities for fun and prizes. Come out and join the fun!

April 29 (Thu)

Annual Blue and Gold Banquet - 6:30pm. Pack 24 year-end family dinner where Scouts receive their final awards and decorations, and where we recognize the contributions of our many leaders and helpers. NOTE: We have moved the B&G to April from May, and it is being held on a Thursday. The Blue & Gold is held in the Stuart Hall Cafeteria.
