Our Pack ranges from Tigers to Weblos, and grades one to five. The 2005 school year marked our twentieth year as part of the Southeast Louisiana Council, Pontchartrain District.
October 14, 2003 Our next Pack Event is coming soon, and it's the one you have been waiting for! Our Overnighter aboard the USS Kidd will be held on November 8th. An afternoon tour of the State Capitol is scheduled, and after dinner (on own) we will board the Fletcher-class destroyer docked on the bank of the Mississippi in Baton Rouge. We ask that you please let us know if you will be coming and how many are in your party. Please complete the brief signup form (DOC or PDF) and return it ASAP via Childpost to Stuart McKendrick. A must-read document is the information kit from the Kidd operators. Please review this with any children attending. This will be a trip that Cubs will remember forever! September 15, 2003 A few photos from this year's Raingutter Regatta have been posted. Please send in others to share with others! September 10, 2003 Photos from last year's Raingutter Regatta have been posted in the photo section. The collection contains over 50 pictures, and a video of the Championship race. Check it out. Help the Pack post a similar display for this year's Regatta. Send your photos on today! September 8, 2003 What a great day for racing! Seventy three Cubs (88% of the Pack) participated in Sunday's Raingutter Regatta. After a brief Pack Meeting, the racing commenced. Our winners are: First Place: Tiger Cub Coleman Maher; Second Place: Wolf Taylor Lee; Third Place: Wolf Glynn Hyer. Our Best Boat trophies for each Den went to: Tiger Cub Harry Shea; Wolf Jacob Broders; Bear Dylan Rampick; Webelos I Cristian Soler; Webelos II Marcel Provensal. Our other trophy winners were: Most Original Sean McKendrick; Most Realistic James Letten; Most Outrageous Evan Duhon. Many thanks to the parents that made Sunday's Event a success: Event Co-chairs Janet McGrew and Cassandra Hyer; Newell Normand; Patrick Duckworth; Juan Parke; Marie Howenstine; Renee Tassin; Jim McGrew; Debbie Gennaro. Look for more current information throughout the site, and a new and improved photo browser! If you have not received your boat kit for the Raingutter Regatta this Sunday, please contact Charlie Ward. It's time for your son to build his craft - let's get underway! The rules for the Regatta are available for download in PDF or DOC format. August 30, 2003 What a year we have had so far! A great Tiger Cub group will join us as three Dens. Our Roundup brought 24 new boys into Pack 24, yet another record! Our Weblos I Den is being led by Eagle Scout Caleb Didriksen, and they are off to a great start. Both the Weblos I and Weblos II dens have had Den Meetings this past week. Most Cubs should have received their Raingutter Regatta kits by now. Help your Cub build his sleek racing craft prior to the race on September 7 at 1:00 pm. Please alert your Den Leader if you have not received your kit. The rules for the Regatta are available for download in PDF or DOC format. August 15, 2003 Welcome Scouts and parents to another year of fun and learning with Pack 24. This year's Pack Events are sure to excite our boys! A great deal of planning has gone into the development of our schedule, and we want you to enjoy the benefits! IMPORTANT! Our 2003 Roundup will be held Monday, August 18th in the school cafeteria. Parents of Tiger Cubs (first grade) should come for 6:00 pm, and returning Cubs at 7:00. Children are welcome to attend with parents. Written and verbal information will be available, and annual dues of $85 will be collected. Current information about Pack Events is available at this site and sent home via Childpost. Email reminders are sent as well, and you can subscribe here (be sure to include your name) Den Leaders do the same with their groups. Photos of Pack Events, Den Leader memos, and useful scouting links can be found on Pack 24's virtual home. We ask that you loan any photos Scouting photos that you have to Stuart McKendrick. Our first Pack Event, the Raingutter Regatta, will be held September 7th at 1:00 pm in the school yard. Boat kits will be distributed to the Den Leaders soon. The beginning of the year is the time all of us need to have our Cubs outfitted with uniforms and books. These supplies are available at the Scout Shop. We have assembled a Uniform Guide for all Cubs in both doc and pdf format.
